2026 Featured Seasonal sensations So this post has jumped the queue, being that it is from the 31st May and I have still got other May stuff to write up, but as some of you have scapes on your plots right now, and they are not going to be there forever I thought I
May Dreaming of this seasons salads A super soggy trip to the allotment today, but I was not going to let a little bit of rain put me off, I had things to do. Also me and the sun really aren't the best of friends, I would rather be a little damp, than crispy
May More May Plotting I had a helper again today - we evened out the dog-deck / seating area and added some arches. Hopefully this will have the dual role of creating a shady space and a useful structure for climbers. The plot has not yet entered a particularly productive phase, but we were rewarded

May Raised Beds - Part 2 25/5 - Project Success It has cost me £108 to build the four small raised beds. Which breaks down as follows: - Compost £36 - Pallet Collars £32 - Top Soil £40 The raised beds probably took 2 to 3 hours of work time with gaps for other tasks and vole related delays
project Raised Beds - Part 1 A short but productive trip to the allotment today. I finally lifted the tarp and I am very happy that I put it down when I did. There were so few weeds and I just needed to flatten out the area a little and move a little soil and gravel
May May has arrived 14/05 - an hour ish I had a bit of a hunt for compost today, the allotment shop had run out. I ended up with two tomato grow bags. I planted a block of sweetcorn, and did a little weeding. There is already a lot more weeding to do again.
