An unusual harvest
First harvest of fresh compost

Some allotment days are not at the allotment at all. Today was one of those. I checked up on the plant babies, reluctantly thinned out the tomato plants and harvested some really nice compost from the Green Johanna composter. This composter has been excellent, taking garden waste, spent compost from planters and ALL of my kitchen waste cooked and raw (except bones) - it is a hot composting method and you can find out more about it from The Compost Guy.

They grow up so quickly - Top 21st April, Bottom 3rd of May
Sugar peas in a lidl / parkside planter - this planter has a water reservoir, hopefully meaning it will be ok in drier spells as long as that reservoir gets filled up.
